Stability AI, a leading imaging, language, code and audio generative AI company, has announced the appointment of entertainment industry veteran, Hanno Basse, as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The announcement was made by the company’s CEO, Prem Akkaraju.
Hanno is a seasoned CTO with over 30 years of experience helping companies integrate and implement new technologies. He has most recently served as Chief Technology Officer at Digital Domain, the global visual effects and digital production company, where he guided their technical infrastructure, pipelines, oversaw their research and development, machine-learning projects, and the application of generative AI in Visual Effects production tools and workflows.
His previous roles include CTO of Microsoft Azure Media and Entertainment, where he oversaw the implementation of Microsoft’s Azure cloud technology, as well as edge and AI technologies, and previously as CTO at 20th Century Fox Film Corp. Hanno is a proud member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and a Fellow of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and has been awarded 30 separate patents.
With extensive experience in both generative AI and in the media and entertainment industries, Hanno will play a critical role in driving the business forward during the next chapter of its growth.
